more treasure from the tip shop

all this...three dollars

are tip shops the new op-shops?

And yes those little orange casseroles are Le Creuset

        the scales are Krups

        the (lovely) plate, Biltons Ironstone

the book: News Chronicle Song Book..."Sing and the world will sing with you" says T. P. Ratcliff

the little red industrial shelf...old and rusty on one side, bright and shiny on the other

and the little white "dolls house"? well that's just cute

see

We also bought an old bowling ball, blue and sparkly in it's own sling-like carry bag...it's still in the boot of the car so no pic.

I want to do this with it

just like Flo

I am definetely becoming more tip than op...no prizes for guessing why!

Here's a tea towel to start the week with

I hope it's a good one x

Linking to Sophie's as always...

  9. Great idea - wish our tip did selling. Maybe they do? I need to go and find out!!! Brilliant finds - the orange le creuset, the plate, everything... And of course the bowling ball has to be a vase. Makes perfect sense :)

  10. such great finds !! well done. I saw a bowling ball with a rose in it once, to get it to sit on the shelf the girl had it on an old rope quoit... your next challenge!
love the tea towel, and as you asked...NO, I will not be taking in knitting orders! LOL. all those old patterns are way too complicated, and with 3ply wool on size 11 skinny needles too.

  11. I bought my dress form of ebay. I was really lucky I found a vintage one but in brand new condition for £69.95 GBP .
I only knew about the sling because it was on a TV show called Gavin and Stacey

  19. I really do adore the look of the white dolls house, it would make for a great display piece. I haven't found much tat lately, though I hope to do so before the summers out here xxx

  20. Well you did rather brilliantly once again - I've hardly bought a thing recently. That little house display case is very sweet, and I remember absolutely loving Flo's bowling ball vase post - lucky you to have your own!

  22. Oh wow, what finds! Just popped over to visit your blog after spotting your post on another's blogroll as that display house caught my eye - I'm hunting for something exactly like that too for my little girl's room. I saw one last week in Balingup but it was $40 and nowhere near as nice as yours. Noticed that you were in Perth, where do you find tip shops here?

  23. Kylie, you found some bargains, aren't some people wasteful?

  25. Wow, what finds!
Love all of them but the shelves are someting i have been on the look out for lately. I love our local tip shop too, it is always worth a fossick, although not as cheap as it was. Our local oppies are starting to go the way of your mainland ones sadly. I love your style and look forward to seeing them in your home :)

  26. Great finds and cannot believe the price! I am so going to check out our local tip shop as soon as I can. Looking forward to your dolls house plans. melx

  27. i love your thrifty finds! haven't hit a tip shop here just yet, but rummage is on sunday and i'm sure to grab a few bargains! (aswell as selling a lot i hope!) ps. you're a winner on my blog! yay!

  28. Oh FURSHURE....Tip Shops ROCK & as they tend to be 'Dealer Free' i.e. NO Dealers working out the back grabbing all the good stuff as it comes in....You tend to find some NEAT stuff....!

I'm ENVIOUS of your Le Crueset pieces....I would have WRESTLED you for those.... :o) !! I've found a FEW LC frypans in the HR over the last year & I tend to think people get rid of it because it's SO heavy....Their loss though 'cause I've got wrists like Arnie....hahahahahaSNORT....!!!!!

    See ya Lovey....!!

    Cheers,
    Tamarah :o)

  33. Kylie!! You're in luck!! I am putting it in my shop; I should have said that in my post. It fits a small to large medium (the waist is elastic) Unfortunately, I wasn't able to bring it this time but if you like, I can send it to you directly from Singapore instead the next time I'm home?

  35. Aargh, I keep starting to write comments and my computer is regularly crashing. I imagine myself as a nun, and I say to myself serenely "It is Gods will my daughter" whist smiling enigmatically. But no, in reality, I am stressed to the max and have just gulped down my last drop of vino. Should I put a beer in the freezer?
Broadurst wins and freezer it is! BTW my husbands name is Tony!

  37. Wow - wish we still had tip shops in the UK - that little house shelf is fab!

  38. Hi Kylie, this is a really great post. You've found some amazing things!

I'm in the process of setting up a tip shop in Perth that is intended to be a bit less chaotic than most, and would love any suggestions you might have on the sorts of things you'd like to see. Would you be interested in getting in touch?

Hopefully this comment isn't taken as an attempt to sell what I'm doing. That isn't my intent (and would be a bit pointless given I don't have anything going yet).
