Happy Mothers Day
(and a big hug if you are sad and missing your Mum today)
How lucky am I? I got these gorgeous flowers (yellow tulips, so lovely) from my girls and my morning coffee AND the newspaper in bed too.
Later on the three of us went to see my Mum/Granny.
We took this yummy cake for afternoon tea
Hurry-Up-Cake
topped with white choc chips and apricot glaze.
recipe via Lara from Fresh Pie! Piewacket
(originally from "The Joy of Cooking" 1946)
The girls gave my Mum this
It means alot
All year through
To have a grandmother
Just like you
You're really grand
In every way
Much more than words
Could ever say
A bit Hallmark-ish, but we think she liked it...
I hope your day was nice too
