Here's some pretty pictures to look at on this lovely Friday afternoon...

remember my globes?
I will be a happy girl when I can retrieve them from their dusty home in our shed and display them as nicely as this. I love that chalkboard too.

I have a similar collection, but of vintage Tasmanian apples instead of tomatoes...not similar at all I suppose, but they're both red and shiny...

And how's this for a pretty collection of vases?

I think they might be ginger jars...

I'm crazy for this kitchen floor!

and sticking with kitchens...

(this is the kitchen I was telling you about Flo)

I think I've died and gone to kitchen kitsch heaven!

I wish that I could claim credit for these lovely pics, but I can't...they are all from Country Living Collection Style by Marie Proeller Hueston (Hearst Books 2004) which I borrowed from the local library...you might be lucky and find it at yours too...

I can however, claim credit for this pic of today's tea towel

but not for this lovely pic from Life in Australia

Dinner for two, Sydney
David Beal c.ANTA

Just a reminder that this pic was taken in 1968, I've been to restaurants recently with almost identical interiors and I've seen very similar chandeliers on the covers of quite a few glossie magazines too...just saying...
I hope your Friday night is a little like this pic too x

  8. Well I have no idea who Flo is nor what you said about the kitchen, but to me it's a little slice of kitchen heaven. I love that shade of green too. A little grape-y, a whole lot avocado-y. With white. Perfectomundo!

Nice towel too - oooh I found a hankie in a charity shop yesterday - it had no price on it but as I bought a bunch of other things the lady tossed it in for free. It's a 'Designed in Australia by Neil' vintage thingy. Very nice. I must take a photo and blog it with some of my other new finds. Tomorrow. Yes.

Happy weekend wishes to you Kylie. :)

  9. I've been thrown off-tangent by the way that restaurant bloke looks like the woman's just giving him the news that she's got an STD... but love the lino pattern and the globes too!

  10. The problem is getting the surfaces to display all the bits and bobs...or the wallspace. The lino floor initially quickened my heart, then I relooked and it was a bit too Memphis for me. I can't wait to see all of your stuff to come out of storage.
OK...you have progressed to level one on Nicks Challenge Game with the remekins. Next quest item. A yellow and black Gunda item.

  16. you know? from here? that chalkboard doesn't half look velvety soft & carpety. but so it is board? wow! the floor comes in handy to backstore it in my mind, for when i get round to actually laying a floor downstairs (i know that you know - we suffer from similar frustrations).... ;)))
