"Wild horses could not drag me away from

you"

Awesome mid-century horsey textile, with teak trim, and a leather loop to hang it from.

"Heyeyey, it's a beautiful thing"

You, on the other hand

were a big, fat mistake.

Huge tapestry (1 x 1.5 metres), made in Turkey by Guney Sanayi. What was I thinking when I parted with cash for this monstrosity? What was Sanayi thinking? (Adelaide just said she reckons he was on acid!!!)

You tell me...There is definitely something unnerving about this ode to puppy/pussy love. The more I look at it, the more it freaks me out. And the chickens! What's with them?

"You can call me a fool, you can call me blind" In this case, it wouldn't be far from the truth.

p.s. Lyrics from Gino Vannelli's 1987 hit, Wild Horses.

  1. Haha, is that the tapestry you bought when we went op shopping together? I take it it didn't make the cut as a rug?

  2. The tapestry is HIDEOUS! The cat definitely has issues. Or indigestion from eating the other 3 chicks. What on earth are you going to do with it? mel x

  4. I never thought I'd say it but "you fool" Kylie. Yes to horsies but Good God the cutesy animals are just hideous and ermmmm....big. I bought a cutesy, kitchy picture at a jumble sale recently with a fawn and a gnome on it - not my thing at all - I don't know what came over me. I left behind some 50s spice containers and a lovely old suitcase and I bought that bloody picture. I think I ought to be joining you in the fool stakes. xx

  5. The cat has a very strange expression on its face - don't think I could live with that!!!!

  6. The horses are divine. The creepy kitty, puppy, chicks, not so much. BUT good reading. The kitty looks suspiciously sneaky. What has she done?

  7. The horses are beautiful, but I'll have to pass on the cat, dog and chicks. The dog and cat look like they're suffering from clinical depression, and the chicks look like they're going to be the cat's morning snack.

  8. Im thinking visual menu from a dodgy resturant myself, but then i dont have a healthy mind!!! Ah mitakes, ive made a few. Ive just returned a set of homemade tooled leather placemats. They were just on that line between awful/awesome, but ultimately i think leather tooling should only be for handbags, they just screamed cowboy hacienda!!!

  9. The horses present a very powerful and effective image, really comes to life and makes you linger.
What's going on with the scale of the dog and cat in relation to the vase? Awful colours and design, but with a certain appeal, to one's sense of humour I suppose.

I want to know the hair secrets of Mr Vannelli - what a dish! Imagine fighting for the hair lacquer every morning!

Ned the Lonely Donkey arrived! Mum and I spent ages reminiscing over it. Thank-you so much, you're a very generous soul. Maybe why you gave that dog/cat/chick orgy tapestry a home!!

  10. Now that puppy/pussy/chick fest is a strange object indeed - were you having a mad moment, Kylie? I could imagine you falling for it as a tea towell, maybe, but as a huge tapestry? Not so sure... High kitsch value though!
I do love your wild wild Roman horses though. Is Gino's song different from the Stones' Wild Horses? He looks 80s-tastic - never heard of him though. A heart throb from your youth, Kylie?! xxx

  11. Haha, this sounds like something I could easily do, especially on vacation somewhere, when everything looks sooo good. Then back home again,... NOT! The horses are gorgeous, though!

  12. I agree...sad looking cats dogs and chickens are a little odd. I am sure you have many more beauties that could take it's place. xxx

  16. I think the cat and dog one is a mickytake. As cats and dogs are not generally meant to get on and cats are supposed to chase chickens well birds and eat them. Not one of them looks happy there all on edge so maybe thats it ;-) It is a bit strange and creepy looking i agree. Love the horses those very beautiful. dee x

  19. The cat and Gino have similarly creepy expressions. Your horses though are quite lovely.

  20. The horses are indeed incredible, very lovely indeed. I've always shyed away from large wall tapestries but I really like how they look on your wall. That poor cat looks a little terrified though xxx
