Here are some old greeting cards I found in an op-shop a few weeks ago, still in their little cellophane packets, 25 cents each...

My life at the moment - except I'm the one wielding the paint brush(!) and one of the reasons things are going to be a bit quiet round here for a while. I also have a couple of assignments rapidly reaching their due-by-date so it's time for me to stop piss-farting around and get them done! Pity I don't practice what I preach as far as homework's (etc) concerned!

they're lovely, aren't they?

Gordon Fraser was a British publisher and editor. He founded the Gordon Fraser Greeting card company in 1938 when he was unable to find a stylish, inexpensive Christmas card (nothing's changed Gordon, Christmas cards are still tacky. The nice ones...still pricey)

vintage Gordon Fraser cards aren't exactly cheap either btw - ten dollars + on ebay!

Take care x

p.s. I'll contact the winner of this  directly.
(and spill the beans with the rest of you next time I post)

p.p.s. this post was inspired by Donna's on 70's Wrapping Paper.

  3. On my goodness, you've transported me right back in time with those Gordon Fraser cards! I always loved them as a kid, and there was a posh toy/gift/card shop in our town which always stocked them. Lovely to see some again, thanks Kylie! xxx

  6. Love these, especially the girl in the head scarf, so innocent compared with the less than hilarious plethora of 'get drunk' 21st humor cards in our local store. Good luck with the assignment writing x

  19. Well I am late to this party! Love these greeting cards. My favorite is the engagement card and the bride with the cleavage. Can you imagine giving that to someone? Maybe it is why it is hanging around 50 years later. The first 21st birthday with the gal in the plaid is just plain old cool. Now, stop reading this and get back to studying!!!!

  27. Hi Kylie! I am so so sorry I haven't been in contact. Life's been beyong crazy and I've fallen behind with email replies, amongst other things. About the shoes, they're too big for me and they don't quite fit my mum's tiny feet either so I decided to add them to my shop so they can find a new home instead of them just sitting in my wardrobe(please don't be mad!). On another note, I just popped a teensy christmas package I put together for you in the mail this morning. PS. It may include a dress you've been eyeing for awhile... okay, ages! (Sorry, life has really been crazy!). I hope you like it :)

  28. I like the 21st girl's dress. I can't believe the engagement card was left languishing, the bride to be looks like a real cool 70s chick.
